Day 207: Summer Staycation

Today began the first day of our family summer staycation. We talked about renting a cabin for a week, or going on a road trip. But, Ellie doesn't sleep when she isn't at home and Zeke still eats every few hours. Better to stay home and do lots of fun things around town.

Day one involved a visit to tot swim and a trip to Six Flags. This was Tim's first time at the Grayslake pool and the girls were so happy to swim with him. I also put Zeke in his suit for the first time. He did not do much swimming. In fact, he slept the whole time...until this picture, that is.

During Ellie's nap, Tim took Lia to Six Flags by herself. They went on all the big kid rides that Ellie can't go on: Whizzer, Little Dipper, Hometown Fun Machine, the lobster one by Batman, bumper cars, etc. She categorically did NOT like the rides. The only one that she even pretended to enjoy was Hometown Fun Machine. I guess Lia is a "keep-your-feet-on-the-ground" kind of kid.
