Day 283: Grateful

Today I am grateful.  Grateful for our house.  For our jobs.  Grateful for our family's health.  And I am grateful that I can get in my car that has gas in it, drive to Walmart, and buy some diapers and/or pull ups.
This afternoon a young family knocked on our door.  The man had recently lost his job and they had a little one.  They needed gas money because he had an interview... and they needed to buy their son diapers.  In order to make money, they were selling produce from their garden.  I told them that I was sorry, but that I had no cash.  I closed the door and went back to my normal day.  Well, I tried to go back to it.  But, I couldn't stop thinking about the family. And then it hit me.  I don't have cash, but we do have diapers. And in lots of different sizes.  So, I found the family and offered them some diapers.  As I talked with them a little more and heard about their sudden job loss and their future job prospects, I realized that Tim and I are one bad day away from selling produce door to door for gas and diaper money. Thank you, God, for your daily provisions for our family. And be with that family as you continue to provide for them.
