So, after the doctor told me Lia was fine and probably not wiping correctly, I got a call that Lia did in fact have a urinary tract infection. I felt vindicated and it justified our trip to the doctor (and the co-pay that goes with it.) For the second time in her life, Lia is taking antibiotics. They are strawberry flavored. After one day she informed me that I should call the doctor because she no longer likes strawberry. I told her to suck it up (literally.) Glad that we got the meds when we did to stop the downward spiral of pain and misery (both hers and mine.)
