Today we gathered with family and friends for my Grandma's memorial service. It was a beautiful day. The service is exactly what my grandma wanted...she chose the music and the Bible verses before her death. In the middle of the service, Ellie climbed over the pew and into Grandma Lyn's arms and fell asleep. Amazing how children can bring such comfort during moments of sadness. And even though it is sad for us to be without Grandma, we have such joy in knowing she is in the presence of Jesus for all eternity. Lia regularly tells me that she is choosing to be happy that Great Grandma Nona is in heaven, even though she really misses her.
Here are some pictures of the day.
Ellie resting on Daddy after her nap.
Uncle Doug and Aunt Susie holding Zeke during the luncheon.
My mom visiting with the Nilges family. What a blessing to have friends at the service that we haven't seen in years! (For my Faith friends, Sara just graduated high school and Michael is going into 8th grade. I taught Sara in the 2 year old Sunday School class. Yeah, we're old.)
Grandma Lyn and Grandpa with the kids.
Family picture...
And my immediate family. This picture cracks me up. I love how totally happy and oblivious Zeke is...do you think he will stay that way?
